Hockey players from the UAE flew to Minsk to participate in the tournament

A team from the United Arab Emirates arrived in Minsk to participate in the XI Christmas hockey tournament among amateur teams for the prizes of the President of Belarus.

11 players from the United Arab Emirates flew to Minsk, and hockey players from the Rubezh and Capital teams of the Minsk Amateur League added to the tournament.

According to the correspondents of CTV.BY, the XI Christmas tournament, to participate in which players from the UAE arrived in Minsk, is not only hockey matches, but also a special camaraderie, as well as new acquaintances and impressions.

Apart from ice battles, the debut guests dreamed of plunging into a real snowy winter, the Hot Ice program on STV reported.

Omar Al-Shamsi, captain of the UAE team said: “My friend, a hockey coach, told me a lot about Belarus. And, of course, we really want to look at the Minsk ice arenas and meet the team in Belarus in our game. In our country there are only two teams, but we already won the Asian round in 2009 and will participate in the 2015 World Cup in Turkey. So we have come to you for game experience. "

However, the captain of the team from the UAE was disingenuous - in the United Arab Emirates, despite the climate, there are much more hockey teams. According to Russian Emirates, the country has not only created a professional hockey league, but also several amateur ones, held the country's ice hockey championship, and a number of prestigious tournaments.

With the exception of the UAE national hockey team, which consists only of the citizens of this country, the rest of the teams are mainly international in composition. Under the scorching rays of the Arabian sun, Canadians, Czechs, Swedes play hockey. And Russian hockey fans not only created three hockey teams, one of which, White Bears, takes part in the UAE hockey championship, but also registered their own DNHL hockey league (Dubai Night Hockey League) and opened an academy in Dubai Hockey (Dubai Ice Hockey Academy).
