ZHANMARK GOSHER, CURRENT PRESIDENT "REPETTO" COMES TO THE FACTORY WORKING AGE 15 YEARS OLD. TODAY HE KNOWS ABOUT THE "REPETTO" SHOES EVERYTHING.

Jean-Marc, why such a type of shoes as ballet shoes has become very popular in recent years?

The point here is not only in fashion, but also in the characteristics of human physiology. A high heel is a thing, in general, unnatural. Today, many young women, who are about forty, at the age of 15 wore sports shoes - sneakers, sneakers, moccasins. Their body and legs are accustomed to flat soles, so it is natural that this age group with the advent of ballet shoes switched to them. This shoe is also suitable for young people, and ladies over 60 want to look feminine and young. So, ballet shoes are beautiful, comfortable, suitable for any clothes, what else?

It is known that you acquired the company in 1999, when it was going through hard times after the death of its founder. How did you start the reorganization?

With increasing efficiency and centralizing production. Since 2006, Repetto began to collaborate with fashion brands - Kenzo, Issey Miyake, Yamamoto and Comme des Garcons. Especially for them, our masters create shoes, the design of which is based on the image of pointe shoes and other models for dancing, but these are ordinary shoes designed for everyday life. In 2008, Karl Lagerfeld designed the new Repetto shoes. Moreover, we decided not to close our lineup only on ballet shoes, and today we produce high-heeled shoes, though very stable and comfortable, as well as fashion bags and clothing collections inspired by ballet tutus and costumes.

Is it true that the most famous dancers in the world wore Repetto shoes?

The true truth. Back in 1954, the first red ballet shoes of Repetto flaunted on the legs of a 50s style icon by Bridget Bardot when she starred in the film "And God Created a Woman." And in 1959, Rose Repetto opened its first Parisian boutique at Rue de la Paix. Many great dancers from all over the world immediately became regular customers in it - Maurice Bejar, Rudolf Nuriev, Mikhail Baryshnikov. In the 1970s, French singer Serge Ginzburg became the brand’s “ambassador”, falling in love with the male model of “Zizi” shoes.

And even today, we continue to supply shoes in our store for prestigious dance schools such as the National Paris Opera and Opera in Lyon.

What is the secret to the success of Repetto shoes?

In her amazing comfort, which is achieved thanks to the unique “Stich & Turn” technology (“Sew and Turn”), developed by Rose Repetto. It allows you to make the joint between the top and the sole almost invisible. Our shoes are sewn from the best materials, they are light, soft, bright and durable. Today, many celebrities wear it, so I am pleased to present our new collection in Dubai. People from all over the world come here, and I am sure that each of them will find something for himself from the collections of Tango, Salsa or Jazz.

Where can I buy Repetto shoes in the UAE?

In several multi-brand galleries, such as Bloomingdale's, Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue and Opera Shoes chain stores.

Thank you Jean-Marc for breathing new life into Repetto. Now it remains to buy a pair of ballet shoes and go dancing.
