On May 27th, the Shawri-La, Dubai Hotel hosted the Jawhara International Oriental Dance Festival for the third time. The 30 best dancers from around the world performing the traditional “belly dance” for the countries of the region took part in the competition for the title “Jawhara-2011”. The beauty and grace of "belly dance" on this day brought together representatives of various nationalities who are not indifferent to this type of art.
The enchanting gala show with the participation of famous dancers from Dubai, France and Brazil, as well as Arab musicians, acrobats and dance groups of the UAE, did not leave the audience indifferent and allowed many to feel a certain unity of Arab and Western cultures.
Surprisingly, the idea of holding this festival belongs to a talented dancer from Belarus - Darin, and the winner of the current festival was Elizabeth from Russia. Judging by the results, our girls took almost all the leading places in this competition, and this is not the first time! One can only admire the talents and skills of our compatriots, who left far behind those who were born and raised in Arab countries.
