On the football field
On December 12, 2010, representatives of the diplomatic corps of the CIS countries accredited in the Emirates gathered for a special football tournament. The tournament, which was held on the field of the AbuDhabi Officer Club, was attended by diplomats from embassies and consulates of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus and Uzbekistan. Despite the competitive spirit present during the game, all the matches were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Surprisingly, serious and adult diplomats chased the ball around the field like 13-year-old boys. The excitement of the game also spread to the audience, who were desperately rooting for the players and wished them victory. As a result of the tournament, the winning team was awarded a memorable prize, and all participants received gifts and packages with information materials about Kazakhstan. According to the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, football tournaments dedicated to the celebration of Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan are planned to be held annually. It should be noted that such events are not held by the embassy for the first time. So, together with Kazakhstani students studying in the Emirates, football tournaments for the Cup of the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the UAE are held annually.
On the tennis court
On December 23, 2010, after a football match, an embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the UAE organized a friendly tennis tournament, also dedicated to the celebration of Independence Day of the country. The tournament, held on the tennis court of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in AbuDhabi, was attended by the ambassadors of Austria, Australia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey and other fans of this sport from among businessmen living in the UAE. Invitations to the elite Dubai venue, Aviation Club, were announced as prizes, on the territory of which there are magnificent tennis courts, a gym, a swimming pool, a sauna, as well as international restaurants, bars and the famous Irish Village Irish Pub. In a bitter struggle with well-trained rivals, a victory was won by a couple consisting of Kanat Iskakov, the manager of the Moskovsky club in the UAE, and Murojan Halikov, a businessman. As the host country, the ambassador of Kazakhstan Askar Musinov, and the representative of the main sponsor of the event - the Moskovsky club, Kanat Iskakov, presented valuable prizes to the second two players - the ambassadors of Turkey and Australia.
The sports festival ended with a friendly dinner organized by the embassy staff and personally the wife of the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UAE, Zhanar, who, in addition to an already abundant table, offered athletes, fans and guests personally prepared dishes of Kazakh national cuisine. What kind of restaurant delights are there! These two sporting events have clearly shown that behind everyday worries and intense daily work, you can always find time for lively, real communication, which can not be replaced by any social networks, phones or email. Neither in a football game, nor in a tennis match, can be deceiving. Everyone decides the feeling of a friend’s elbow and real team spirit.
