As expected, Montegrappa's NeroUno collection begins with pens, the design of which indicates the superiority of this company in the production of classical writing instruments. The clean lines, so popular in the late 1970s, are combined with Montegrappa brand features - a faceted barrel-shaped case and a pocket clip with a rotating tip.
Complemented with equally elegant cufflinks in the spirit of minimalism, NeroUno pens have acquired the features of a new collection that sets the necessary accents in a modern lifestyle. This is the quintessence of the bella figura style, a purely Italian way of self-expression: elegant, appropriate to the situation, without undue pretentiousness, but with a certain touch of panache.
And, of course, the third element of the NeroUno collection was to be a watch. This extremely practical tool, born in the twentieth century, has turned into a kind of conventional unit for every man, determining his taste and self-confidence, just like women have shoes and bags. Reading time in this case becomes a secondary factor, but the way you determine the time comes to the fore. In order to create watches that complement the style of NeroUno pens and cufflinks, Montegrappa specialists went to Switzerland, which is not so far from the company's headquarters in Bassano del Grappa in northeastern Italy. The collaboration of Montegrappa and Swiss watchmakers resulted in a line of watches reflecting both the core values of the brand and the role of modern tools for reading time.
The most significant detail was the modern watch case with a diameter of 42 mm. A quartz movement Ronda 6004 is installed inside it. All watches of the line are waterproof up to 5 ATM (40 m). Being ultramodern, NeroUno watches are equipped with the traditional “small dial” with a seconds indicator instead of the usual second hand, which adds a touch of nostalgia for the past guilloche dial. The time indicated by thin indicators instead of numbers is shown by elongated nickel hands, and the date window is located at 3 o’clock. The dial is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. All watches from the NeroUno collection are presented on a luxurious wide leather strap with a double clasp and croc-embossed. The final “chord” in watch design is a faceted black gem crowning the crown and being a symbol of the NeroUno collection. Watches in the Montegrappa NeroUno line are either made of stainless steel or in a gold-plated version with a PVD coating in rose gold 5 microns thick. Both versions have a black or silver-plated dial. Recall that starting in 1912, Montegrappa has been producing high-end writing instruments in the same historical manufacture building in Bassano del Grappa in northeastern Italy.
