The Bears defeated an rival - Theebs Ice Hockey Team Al Ain - on February 7, 2017 in the UAE Ice Hockey Champions Cup final 2016-2017, organized by the Emirates Hockey League (EHL), a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation ice (IIHF).

At the award ceremony, which took place immediately after the end of the final game, representatives of the UAE national hockey league handed the medals to the players of both teams, and the captain of the Polar Bears team received the main trophy from the head of the EHL - the UAE Hockey Champions Cup 2016-2017. Polar Bears goalkeeper Sergei Molochkov, who defended the team’s goal in the finals, received the title and the prize of the best goalkeeper of the Championship, and the title of the best player was received by Arthur Zainutdinov, playing for the team Al Ain Theebs, who took second place in the Championship.
In the ice battle, their brave compatriots were actively supported by representatives of the Russian-speaking community of the UAE - more than one hundred and fifty fans from Dubai and other emirates arrived in the city of Al Ain, where the final game took place, occupying almost the entire guest platform above the bench of the Polar Bears.
