St. Petersburg State University of Engineering and Economics is the oldest university in the field of engineering and economic education in Russia and has recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. Today it is a powerful educational and scientific complex, one of the seven best economic universities in the Russian Federation. The representative office of St. Petersburg State University of Engineering and Economics (ENGECON), which opened in Dubai Knowledge Village in 2005 with the support of the International Academy of the East, has everything necessary for training specialists in the field of economics and management and offers to receive higher education in various programs with the following qualifications : Bachelor of Management (tourism and hotel industry), economist-manager at the enterprise (tourism and hotel industry), Master of International management (tourism and hotel industry). All these programs are accredited by Rosobrnadzor and the Department of Knowledge and Development (KHDA) under the Government of Dubai.

On Friday, July 16, 2010, at 14:00, in the INJECON representative office in Dubai, the ceremony of awarding state diplomas of the Russian Federation to the first graduates of the university took place. Entrants, students, graduates, their relatives and friends, as well as representatives of the Russian-language press of Dubai were invited to it.

The diplomas were awarded to graduates: Marina Aleksandrovna Morozova, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor and Dean of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management of St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Economics (INJECON) and Maxim Vladimirovich Mineev, Deputy Director of the Representative Office. In her ceremonial speech at the ceremony, Marina Alexandrovna thanked the graduates for their success in their studies and scientific activities, wished them success in the future, and also noted that "economic knowledge helps in the development of any career."

A speech was also made by the former manager of the representative office of the St. Petersburg State University of Engineering and Economics in Dubai, Vadim Anatolyevich Malyshev, who congratulated the first graduates and also thanked them, calling the first issue a “landmark event”, indicating the success of the INJECON project in Dubai.

The first graduates of the St. Petersburg State University of Engineering and Economics in Dubai, now graduates, entered the university in 2005 at the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management. For five years they studied general humanitarian and special socio-economic disciplines (including English and Arabic, economics and management, finance and credit, aesthetics and psychology), mathematical subjects (higher mathematics, computer science, statistics), general professional and special disciplines (management, management and marketing at the enterprises of tourism and hotel industry). In May 2010, they successfully passed state exams and defended their theses.

Along with university professors, teachers in the educational programs of ENGECON were acting professionals in the field of tourism and the hotel sector in Dubai. Part-time students had the opportunity to internship and even work in the tourism sector of the UAE while studying.

All thirteen new specialists who received an INJECON diploma in Dubai have different views on their professional future, and they see themselves not only in the hotel and tourism sectors. So, one of the graduates, Liliya Kruglikova, said that "the knowledge gained while studying at the university will help her in her future work in the service sector, and will also be a good base for entering the MBA program." Lilia Kim, who received her ENGECON diploma after many years of experience in the field of fitness, liked the system of organizing the educational process at the university, which she called "an excellent opportunity to get education for people living abroad." “If there is a desire to learn,” she said, “then there will be time and opportunities to gain knowledge.” Anastasia Kushnir, who now works for the largest airline in the UAE, believes that "the qualification of an economist-manager will be useful upon returning home to Kiev, where she will open her travel agency, in the work of which it will be possible to apply the acquired knowledge and skills." Tatyana Alikulova, another graduate, plans to look for a job in the tourism sector in Dubai, and believes that an ENGECON diploma will help her with this. Another graduate agreed with her, combining study with work in a travel company. He also noted that "he does not see the future without higher education, and is very glad that he finally received it," and also that "the student life in ENGECON was very interesting and eventful."
