In Abu Dhabi, children from 5 years old will be given the opportunity to drive a real car

In order to teach the correct behavior on the road and the formation of good driving skills from an early age, in the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi, a motor racing town will be built for children, where from five years old kids will be able to drive cars on real roads. The project, called Traffic Village (which can be translated as "Traffic Town"), was presented to the general public as part of the "GCC Traffic Week", which is now taking place in all countries participating in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The Traffic Village project provides for the construction of several sections, each of which will have completely real asphalt roads, regulated intersections, tunnels, bridges and overpasses. One section will be designed for children from 5 to 12 years old, where they can drive battery-powered cars at speeds up to 15 km / h. All movements of children will be monitored individually.

In the second section, teenagers from 13 to 17 years old will have at their disposal cars that run on gasoline and develop speeds of up to 20 km / h. The police will watch the traffic on the roads for adolescents from a special office, from where drivers will receive reports of violations on the radio.

Teens and adults will also be able to take advantage of the Formula 1 track, where racing small cars will reach speeds of up to 70 km / h, as well as the nearby desert dunes for ATV riding. “We set ourselves the task of educating young children on the correct driving and road behavior that today's adults driving cars are lacking,” said Major Ahmed Al-Niiyadi, Head of Marketing and Public Relations Department of Abu Police -Dhabi.

Where exactly the project will be built, occupying a plot of 250 by 200 meters, is not yet known exactly. Most likely - in the suburbs of Abu Dhabi Al-Shaham. Construction is scheduled to begin next year and after 5 years to put the project into operation.
