Dubai will open the world's largest hotel Mercure

AccorHotels announces the upgrade, rebranding and expansion of the Mercure Dubai Barsha Heights Hotel Suites & Apartments in Dubai.

AccorHotels on Monday announced the massive transformation and rebranding of the former Sheikh Zayed Road attraction, the Mercure Dubai Barsha Heights Hotel Suites & Apartments.

The hotel is currently at the first stage of a comprehensive renovation and is expected to open under the Mercure brand on May 19, becoming the world's largest hotel under this brand. A total of 120 hotel rooms will be renovated as part of the first phase, and the second stage of reconstruction will be aimed at expanding the hotel with additional rooms and amenities. Reconstruction and restoration is expected to be finalized by the end of 2018.

The statement said that as a result of these works, the hotel facility for 1015 rooms will rise from a four to a five-star level.

Mercure Dubai Barsha Heights Hotel Suites & Apartments will combine hotel rooms with two- and three-bedroom apartments, as well as a 24-hour restaurant with a lounge, two specialized restaurants, a lobby bar, a health club, a spa and a swimming pool.

AccorHotels operates 38 facilities in the UAE. Another 22 are under development. In the Middle East, AccorHotels currently manages 94 hotels with 28.5 thousand rooms.
