Luxury Dubai resort will hire Santa Claus

The hotel at Palm Jumeirah in Dubai is looking for an employee who will play the role of Santa Claus for the Christmas holidays this year.

It became known that the Fairmont hotel on The Palm Jumeirah launched a campaign to search for an employee for the role of Santa Claus during a festive event in December.

“The North Pole is busy as always this year, so the resort is looking for Santa in another place,” the hotel said in a statement.

The most interesting aspect of the vacancy is the privileges that Santa will be awarded, including free flights, free accommodation for two in a five-star resort, daily breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“The Santa we choose will go to Dubai for a vacation that he will never forget,” the hotel’s press service spokesman said.

A successful candidate will be required to fulfill the duties of Santa Claus an hour or two a day. The applicant will have to greet the guests of the resort, “manage a team of elves”, make sure that the almond cakes match the highest quality, check letters and wish lists from children, categorizing them as “obedient” and “naughty” with the utmost care and professionalism. The most important thing that is required of the candidate is an "oval and rather wide waist and a cheerful mood."

To apply, you must upload a 30-second video on Instagram or Facebook until October 31 with the hashtags #MyDubaiSanta and #FairmontThePalm. Those who intend to recommend a friend or family member should also adopt the hashtags #PickMyDad #PickMyFriend. In the video, applicants must explain in English why the hotel should choose them. Only one video is accepted from one applicant.
