Participants of the "Trassiberian Rally 2007" - Al Nabooda Racing Team reach new records
The magnificent performance of the Al Nabooda Racing Team from the UAE, consisting of pilots from Karim Al Azari and Blair Kohl, in the "Trans-Siberian Rally 2007" at 4,400 miles, was truly brilliant.
Karim Al Azari grew up in the UAE, his partner Blair Kohl - in New Zealand, however, belonging to different cultures did not prevent them from honorably overcome the two-week race in Russia on a special model Porche Cayenne S Tarnssyberia.
“We experienced many adventures along the route. For example, all the teams had one free day in Russia. Everyone spent it on vacation, and we trained: we learned to cross the river and changed wheels,” Kohl says. “But anyway, we really liked Russia, despite the huge number of bureaucratic formalities at border crossings.”
Pilots who were able to overcome any obstacles in the race, managed with humor to overcome their inability to carefully monitor their own documents. “I dealt with all the papers myself, and I gave only one document to Karim for saving. Only one! It was his return ticket for the plane! And he lost it,” laughs Kohl.
Despite all the difficulties, the Al Nabooda Racing Team entered the top ten leading racing teams in the world and was invited to participate in the "Trans-Siberian Rally 2008". The main sponsors of the Al Nabooda Racing Team in the Trans-Siberian Rally 2007 were Polimar, the leading UAE supplier of spare parts for cars, and MAHA, a service group for the maintenance of cars of different classes.
