Abu Dhabi Manufactures Become New Attractions

Two factories will enrich the cultural tourism industry in Abu Dhabi.

A delegation from the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism visited Al Foah Dates Factory and Al Khaznah Tannery to see how both businesses are turning into new tourist attractions.

The trip marks the stage of the Department’s long-term strategic partnership with two emirate companies and forms the basis of the department’s ongoing efforts to combine the emirate’s rich heritage with exceptional tourism experience for both residents and visitors.

The delegation began their visit to Al Foah Company in Al Ain, which owns the largest organic farm in the world, Al Foah Organic Date Farm.

Mubarak Al Nuaimi, Director of Promotion at the Department of Culture, said: “These new attractions now provide more experience for guests of the emirate and give our guests even more opportunities for work and experience. These places for family visits form an idea of our culture and heritage, demonstrating important episodes of our history. "

The plan is to draw the attention of local, regional and international visitors to genuine cultural experiences, such as Al Ain Oasis, the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in the UAE.

The trip also included a visit to Al Khaznah Tannery, the country's most technologically advanced tannery. During the tour, the delegation explored many of the special opportunities that a tannery could offer for tourists.
