The civil defense of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah was called "the fastest in the world"

The emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has achieved a record emergency response time.

The average time spent by the civilian defense of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, on the response is less than the world average, that is, faster than eight minutes, says captain Omar Mattar, head of the civil defense department.

Mattar said that only 7.3 minutes are enough for firefighters in the emirate to respond to incidents. Firefighters in Ras Al Khaimah receive “regular, intensive and in-depth training to improve their skills.”

Speaking about the new fire safety rules, which will take effect soon, Captain Mattar said: "Smoke and gas detectors will be mandatory in all buildings from 2018. They will be connected to dashboards and will sound an alarm in a timely manner."

In the near future, the department will begin random inspection visits to residents of the emirate and to the company to ensure compliance with safety rules.
