Emirates Concludes IBM

Emirates has an agreement with IBM to manage its IT infrastructure, including servicing the company's data centers and cloud system.

IBM and Emirates entered into a ten-year contract worth $ 85 million to manage IT infrastructure, including the implementation of a private cloud and data centers, which will allow airline employees to remotely access service applications.

This agreement for 10 years prolongs the validity of the agreement between the companies concluded in 2016, the amount of which is $ 300 million. Emirates uses IBM services to expand its functionality and improve the quality of passenger service.

Under the new agreement, Emirates will implement a new “private cloud” in the two most important data centers of the company in Dubai, which will allow airline employees to access remote structures for managing business processes.

In addition, the innovations offered by IBM will concern the provision of Emirates employees access to the company's systems and utility applications remotely from anywhere in the world.

“The new agreement with IBM will provide Emirates with a flexible, scalable, and reliable information system, and significantly reduce operating costs,” said Mr. Refat, Director of IBM Middle East and Pakistan.
