Etihad Airways launched flights to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

Dubai, UAE. Etihad Airways, UAE's national carrier, launched flights to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The first flight EY297 flew March 2 from Abu Dhabi with a special delegation on board, including the management team of Etihad Airways, diplomats, media representatives, etc.

The implementation of joint flights on the route Abu Dhabi - Baku - Abu Dhabi for the first time began by agreement between the national air carriers of Azerbaijan and the UAE - AZAL and Etihad Airways. Flights will be operated weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays on an Airbus A320 aircraft.

It is noted that Etihad Airways can also expand the geography of flights to Azerbaijan by opening new flights to Gabala and Nakhchivan. Etihad Airways carried 18.6 million passengers last year.
