Building Lighting Helps Reduce Crime in One UAE Emirate

Thanks to the building lighting project, crime rates in the smallest UAE emirate have fallen by 64%.

A project to cover dark areas helped the police of the Ajman Emirate, UAE, reduce crime by 64.3 percent compared to last year.

Major General Sheikh Sultan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, said the initiative is being carried out in partnership with building owners.

Lt. Col. Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi added that the initiative has spread to 290 buildings in Al Jerf Industrial Area, New Sanaya, Al Numaiya, Al Jerf and Rashidiya.
