One and a half hundred Russians will take part in the Special Olympics in the UAE

More than 150 Russians will arrive with the national team at the Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi.

Dubai, UAE. The Special Olympics - games for people with intellectual disabilities - will be attended by 154 Russian athletes. Competitions will start in Abu Dhabi on March 14.

More than 7 thousand athletes from 190 countries will compete in 24 sports. The Russian team is one of the most numerous. This year, the Russian delegation received a quota of 211 seats, of which 154 athletes from 27 regions of the country.

At the competitions, Russian athletes will take part in 20 disciplines: swimming, athletics, badminton, basketball (two teams), bocce, bowling, cycling, equestrian sports, football (two teams), sports and rhythmic gymnastics, handball, judo, kayaking , powerlifting, speed skating, sailing, tennis, table tennis, volleyball (two teams).

Russian athletes have been performing at the Special Olympics since 1993.
