The street is named after the ruling monarch of Saudi Arabia, since there are two mosques built with his participation. In addition, it emphasizes a commitment to fraternal relations and solidarity between the two Gulf countries. The opening was timed to coincide with the 86th anniversary of the independence of Saudi Arabia.
