A breakthrough in the world jewelry arena, Cindy Chao, originally from the city of Taipei, made in 2008 during Paris Fashion Week, where her retrospective exhibition The Art Jewel was held. Since the designer does not make two identical jewelry, 14 rare works from private collections of clients named Black Label Masterpieces and White Label were presented. At first glance, Cindy Chao jewelry is so dynamic and extraordinary that the eye does not stop at just one element, but covers the entire work. However, a closer look reveals with what meticulous skill each detail has been worked out and with what love the author treats his craft.

The petals of rings or brooches frozen in the air with a floral slope seem so natural, as if they will now begin to wave in the wind. A butterfly in Cindy’s world - an allegory of herself, a constant metamorphosis of her personality and creativity - is captured at the moment when she flaps her wings in the next flight, and each of her veins is visible thanks to an interesting planting of stones and a placer of diamonds - she is so fancy able to work with Cindy's material.

Cindy begins the process by hand sculpting a prototype of a future wax product - this was taught to her by her grandfather, a well-known Taiwanese architect and temple designer Ksie Zinan. "When I work, I am completely freed from my thoughts. My hands move very smoothly, and as if I myself become the wax from which I sculpt." Indeed, looking at such a decoration, you involuntarily feel the beauty of the author’s inner world. "A miniature piece of art" - so Cindy likes to call any thing created with love.

One of the collection butterflies produced by Cindy only one at a time, The Royal Butterfly, was bought by the prestigious National Museum of Natural History of the United States, which exhibited historically important samples of plants, rocks and meteorites, as well as archaeological and cultural artifacts. It is strange to see Cindy Chao's designer delights among such mineral blocks - but it is her organic products that symbolize the design of the 21st century and are presented as an example of the craftsmanship of our time.

Another butterfly from the Black Label series, the Ballerina Butterfly brooch, is the result of a two-year collaboration with style icon Sarah Jessica Parker. The jewelry is made of titanium and gold in the shape of a dancing ballerina-butterfly and decorated with a brown diamond weighing 26.27 carats, huge diamond plates weighing 47.71 carats, pearls and a loose diamond set. Last October, in Hong Kong, where Cindy Chao headquarters is now located, the brooch went under the hammer at Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite auction for $ 1.2 million (9.4 million Hong Kong dollars). Part of the funds went to support the New York City Ballet troupe.

The unique works of the girl contribute to the appearance of numerous fans of her work among jewelers and serious collectors. If once purity and carat of stone played a decisive role in determining the price, then modern collectors are increasingly paying attention to the expertly executed design, which was exactly what Taiwanese Cindy Chao influenced.
