Matthew, good afternoon. Tell us how, being sought after by Hollywood, did you decide on a contract with Hogan?
I was just asked if I would like to participate in a fashion project ... Of course, I seized on such an opportunity! The history of the company is incredibly rich, especially in the field of shoe development. She always declares comfort and elegance - all that I love so much! Therefore, the decision on cooperation came easily and quickly.
What did you immediately notice?
I liked the models that I tried on. Shoes are really comfortable. In addition, several pairs can be used in different situations. And this is especially important for the modern urban gentleman. I also thought that the Hogan collection for formal appearance looks superelegant.
Apparently, you and Hogan are on the same wavelength?
My style is simple and unpretentious. I would even call it "timeless classics." With these words, I would describe the current style of collections from Hogan.
Are filming very different from ad production?
Personally, I did not notice much of a difference! We did just a few takes, because during the photo shoot I felt like a fish in water. The shooting day was very busy. I met a lot of interesting people, and we all worked hard. So all the ads were shot by the end of the day. Like in the movies! Although there is still a difference - in the time frame of working with the photographer. And the fact that the whole process took only one day!
What is your impression of working with Nathaniel Goldberg?
We celebrated the end of filming with champagne! But if seriously ... I really liked our teamwork. It is a pleasure to work with a professional of this level. For example, Nathaniel knows exactly what he wants. And at the same time, it always leaves room for creativity. Therefore, I had absolute freedom. And after the photo shoot, I even suggested he shoot the blockbuster together. As you can see, we got along!
And acting experience helped you?
Of course. I took a baggage of professionalism and a cheerful disposition with me on set.
Hogan is an Italian company. Do you like the Italian lifestyle?
Of course! Especially the kitchen and the wine.
What about Hogan's informal business style?
A good suit is always worth its weight in gold! Especially when you can use a pair of excellent jeans, a polo shirt and high-quality loafers as an addition to the jacket. However, I would call my individual style even more "relaxed."
What usually inspires you during filming?
Good script. Producer. Professional film crew. The whole process. Ideally, I want everything to go smoothly during filming. So that the actors enjoy the work and even a little skoda. But this is ideal. But in reality, of course, nothing can be predicted in advance. Cinema is a very creative process! This is where I draw inspiration.
Do you think there is something in common between the world of fashion and cinema?
Cinema is always elegant. There is depth in it. However, if the film has a certain theme in style and costumes (and this is the so-called costume movie), then texture and fashionable details most often come to the fore. In this case, producers and actors need to rely on cooperation with a large luxury brand. For example, Hogan.
What else does a modern and stylish man need to be successful?
If he is a kind, strong, slightly sentimental man who can listen and make decisions independently ?! Be an exemplary family man!
