In accordance with the plan, the complex will be opened on the island of Saadiyat in 2015. The signing of a contract worth AED 2.4 billion (US $ 665.4 million) with construction companies is an important milestone in the implementation of the project, which was already widely known at the design stage. His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Tanun Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Culture of Abu Dhabi, said: “The signing of the contract confirms our focus on the implementation of landmark projects in the cultural quarter of Saadiyat Island, which will turn the emirate of Abu Dhabi into a cultural exchange center.
