An action to release bisse turtles in the sea was held on one of the beaches of Dubai

More than a thousand fans gathered an action to release about 150 individuals of an endangered species of bead turtles into the sea after taking a rehabilitation course, which took place on June 29 on the beach in front of the Madinat Jumeirah resort complex. It was organized and hosted by the international hotel company Jumeirah Group. The event also included a swim in six turtles of The Big Jumeirah Sea Turtle Race, on whose shells satellite navigators were fixed. Thanks to them, scientists will be able to locate individuals and study this endangered species. The sponsors of the action were the largest properties of the group - Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Wild Wadi, Jumeirah Living and Burj Al Arab. The winner of the "race", who swims the farthest, will be announced in October this year. Everyone can follow the movement of sea turtles on the Facebook page: www.Facebook.com / turtle.rehabilitation.

The only sea turtle rehabilitation project in Dubai has been successfully implemented since 2004 in collaboration with the Jumeirah marine biologists team and the World Wildlife Conservation Organization with the support of the Dubai Falcon Hospital Veterinary Clinic and Central Veterinary Research Laboratory. Sea turtles washed ashore as a result of an accident or illness are treated for several months at the Burj Al Arab and Madinat Jumeirah hotels. As a rule, it consists in determining the disease of the turtle, restoring its physical condition and then releasing it in its native sea element. In the past year alone, 250 sea turtles have undergone a rehabilitation course.
