Hence the conversation with Cameron herself about her partnership with the avant-garde Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer and her attitude to the new line of ladies watches Link Lady.
Cameron, please tell me what prompted you to become a TAG Heuer watch brand ambassador?
For many years I was a fan of this brand. When TAG Heuer showed me the design of the new Link Lady women's watch, I immediately thought that it was the perfect embodiment of the development of watchmaking traditions and the creation of corporate models that match the charm and elegance of a modern woman.
Do you often agree to such a partnership? How did you choose TAG Heuer?
Throughout my career, I have been very careful about partnerships with well-known brands, and I always approach these issues very selectively. I like the fact that TAG Heuer defies the accepted rules and thinks outside the box, so I am proud that my name today is associated with this well-known and avant-garde watch brand.
What do you usually expect to see in a watch?
In my opinion, a watch says a lot about the person who wears it. I think the new Link Lady watch is designed for a confident, elegant, modern woman who sees it as her favorite piece of jewelry.
How do you define the concept of "luxury"?
Luxury is all that allows a person to feel great at any time. For me personally, luxury is a synonym for quality, not extravagance.
What is the biggest luxury in your life?
The greatest luxury is time. When I do not work, I really like the feeling of relaxation and the fact that I do not need to rush anywhere.
Why is the UN Women Empowerment program so important to you? What led you to the idea that a partnership with the TAG Heuer brand should benefit women around the world through UN Women?
Of no small importance to me is the fact that the TAG Heuer brand shares my desire to draw the attention of the general public to such a wonderful international organization, UN Women. I feel my personal responsibility to support those women who do not have the freedom of choice even to achieve the most basic goals in their life just because they are women.
What is your opinion on the new line of ladies watches TAG Heuer Link Lady?
The design of watches from the new Link Lady collection differs from the appearance of traditional models for TAG Heuer, inspired by motorcycle races and directly associated with this “male” brand. At the same time, in the new women's watch the brand spirit is unmistakably guessed, which is additionally emphasized by the famous links of the S-shaped bracelet. Link Lady watches are very comfortable and elegant, I like them.
A wristwatch is usually considered a men's accessory. What exactly does the Link Lady watch reflect their femininity? Why do they attract the attention of women?
It seems to me that the reason for the appeal lies in the fact that the models from the Link Lady line are not just a smaller version of men's watches. Yes, this is a collection that has a clear affiliation with the TAG Heuer brand, but has a distinctly feminine character. Today, a huge variety of women's watches are produced in the world, but even more different types of women inhabit our planet. I treat my watch as my favorite piece of jewelry, and not at all as an instrument that shows time. My Link Lady watch is always with me: at home, on the red carpet and in everyday life.
This collection of women's watches is innovative for TAG Heuer. How do you feel, being an integral part of the presentation of this new line?
I like to be part of TAG Heuer’s ongoing evolutionary process - from exploiting a clearly masculine image to the newly chosen concept of creating a more feminine and sophisticated watch. The Link Lady collection reflects the spirit of a modern woman, just like the traditional TAG Heuer watch lines, originally designed for an adventure seeker.
What do you like about this collection?
I love watches, but it was always difficult for me to find the only ones that I would like to wear constantly. In the TAG Heuer Link line, I like the fact that it's a little more than just a watch. In my opinion, this is still jewelry.
How would you describe your personal style? Is he sporty, romantic, avant-garde, more elegant or something else?
On weekends and non-working days, I dress simply, at home. But when I need to look smart or luxurious, for example, to enter the red carpet, the main thing for me is to feel comfortable and confident in what I’m wearing.
How do you usually choose accessories?
I think less is better, but better. It seems to me that accessories should complement what you are wearing, and not “shout over” the general appearance of the ensemble. This is exactly what I like about Link Lady watches, they are elegant and not striking.
You probably know that Leonardo DiCaprio’s partnership with the TAG Heuer brand is designed to raise funds for organizations working on environmental issues. Now your support is directed towards the UN Women. What do you think of TAG Heuer social responsibility programs?
I have great respect for TAG Heuer social programs, and it is this brand’s responsible attitude to society that has become for me one of the most important factors that influenced the decision on partnership and participation in this advertising campaign for the new line of Link Lady women's watches. In my opinion, it is very important when reputable companies and well-known businessmen strive to make our world a better place, and I am happy to work with a brand where they understand it well.
Do not remember the most important challenge in your life, and what will be the next?
I do not think of challenges as troubles, I consider them opportunities for acquiring new knowledge and personal growth. I believe that my career is a huge gift, so I try not to lose the feeling of how happy and lucky I am, because I have the opportunity to do what I love and know how. I am constantly looking for new and very different ways for my creative expression, then to share everything that I learned with the rest.
