Confession

It has already become a tradition to present the prestigious Abraaj Capital Art Prize at the exhibition, with a prize pool of US $ 1 million.
This time the victory was awarded to five works, which were also on display at Art Dubai. Artist Raid Yassin created a collection of porcelain vases in the Chinese style, which he devoted to the civil war in Lebanon and its consequences. National motifs were featured in a series of carpets "Seven Seas" by Pakistani artist Risham Saed. Wael Shawki from Egypt showed a new look at the crusades of the Middle Ages, and Lebanese masters Johan Hadjitomas and Khalil Yorige presented the results of their reflections on the modern development of e-mail in the form of a philosophical video installation "A letter that always reaches the addressee." The fifth winner of the prize was Palestinian Tausir Batnizhi with a series of photo memories “For My Brother”.

Abraaj Capital Art Prize is a unique initiative in the world of art, which aims to encourage talented authors living in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA). This year, the award ceremony was held for the fourth time.
