Worlds Officine Panerai

Italian-Swiss watchmaker Officine Panerai participated in an exhibition of contemporary artand “O'Clock” as her general partner. The large-scale exposition includes over 80 works from designers and artists from around the world. The design of the exhibition is the merit of the world famous designer Patricia Urquiola.

Specifically for Officine Panerai, Patricia created the installation “I mondi di Officine” (“Worlds Officine Panerai”). Its key element is the eight Panerai watch models.

The installation consisted of eight peculiar "aquariums", in the center of which were the Panerai watches. Among the models used in the installation were two very rare historical watches - the Radiomir of 1938 (the year in which the watch under the Panerai brand was first produced) and the Luminor of the 1940s.

One of the eight presented models became a world premiere - a Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days watch with the P.3001 proprietary caliber, having functions: hours, minutes, a small second hand at 9 o’clock and a three-day power reserve indicator on the back of the case. The model has a special case shape in the style of the rare Luminor 1940s, which were an intermediate link in the transition from historical Radiomir models to Luminor models.
