In the UAE, it will be possible to import, without declaring, up to 100 thousand dirhams

In accordance with the new customs regulations, which came into force on September 1, 2011, citizens entering and leaving to the UAE can now carry an undeclared amount of cash in the amount of up to 100 thousand dirhams (US $ 27,200). This limit applies both to the transportation of cash in UAE dirhams, and equivalent amounts in any other freely convertible currency.

Thus, for the first time in the history of the country, a limit has been set for the amount of funds exported from the UAE. This measure, according to Sultan bin Nasser Al Suwadi, the head of the Central Bank of the UAE, is designed to prevent money laundering and other financial fraud that may be carried out using the free economic zones of the UAE. At the same time, the new customs procedure more than doubles the amount of cash allowed for undeclared entry, which was previously limited to the “ceiling” of 40 thousand dirhams (US $ 10,880).
