Hyperloop's high-speed bullet train technology will contribute to the further economic development of the United Arab Emirates by expanding access to the region and increasing residents' mobility.
The UAE has a progressive vision for transforming its economy, and Hyperloop’s high-speed transport technology plays a key role in expanding access to the region, said Sherwin Pishevar, executive chairman and co-founder of Hyperloop One.
“In addition to the benefits that Hyperloop will offer companies, Gulf connectivity through Hyperloop will enable governments to solve youth problems in the region, giving young job seekers the opportunity to consider new, promising job opportunities. As an entrepreneur myself, I can assess the availability of an accessible ecosystem, ”Pishevar added, speaking at the Global Summit on Industrial Production and Industrialization (GMIS 2017) in Abu Dhabi.
Hyperloop technology allows you to travel on a train called the bullet in the media at speeds of up to 1080 km / h and offers a different look at the established principles of production and logistics. The company plans to reduce the road between the main cities of the Persian Gulf to one hour or less. So, it is expected that from Abu Dhabi to Dubai can be reached in 12 minutes.
According to McKinsey & Co., the regional freight market in 2016 was estimated at approximately $ 35 billion, and Hyperloop One is targeting almost a third of this amount. The company also claims to be the Gulf airline market, valued at $ 7 billion, for 22% of the land transportation market, which is about $ 3 billion, and 13% of the volume of sea transportation ($ 2 billion).
Nick Earle, senior vice president of international operations at Hyperloop One, said manufacturing and logistics companies would benefit from running a vacuum cushion train by reducing stocks of finished products by 25%, access to more job seekers, and shortening delivery times and shipping costs.
