The traditional meeting of Aeroflot representatives was held in Moscow on the eve of the 85th anniversary of the company. Aeroflot employees from all over the world gathered in the conference hall of the Novotel metropolitan hotel. Over the course of two days, they discussed common problems, shared their experiences, made interesting suggestions on working prospects.
On the first day, the meeting was mostly business in nature. In his speech, the commercial director of Aeroflot Alexei Sidorov briefly described the results of the company’s work in 2007 and the situation on the global passenger air transportation market. He emphasized increased competition in this market segment, the emergence of several powerful players specializing in low-cost transportation - the so-called low cost - and the need to use new distribution technologies, such as electronic commerce, as well as lower costs for using an agent channel. The next day, airline representatives presented the results of work for 2007 and plans for 2008. The event ended with a festive event - awarding the best employees. It is noteworthy that in honor of the 85th anniversary of Aeroflot, the company congratulated and awarded not only distinguished heads of representative offices, but also their non-staff representatives from local citizens.
For the conscientious and initiative work, the great personal contribution to the development of the airline, by the order of the Director General, the head of the Aeroflot representative office in the UAE, Sergey Vladimirovich Salov, was awarded the honorary badge “Excellent Aeroflot”, and thanks were given to the assistant representative at Dubai Airport Anatoly Konstantinovich Krakhmalev.
Also, for his success in work, his great personal contribution to the development of the airline and in connection with the 85th anniversary of Russian civil aviation and Aeroflot Day, Mohammed Al Sadyk, employee of the Aeroflot representative office in Dubai, was awarded an order of the Director General of JSC Aeroflot with an Honorary Diploma.
In the evening, the guests went to the Kremlin Palace for a gala concert dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Aeroflot. Aeroflot members of all generations, including veterans and youth, gathered in the concert hall. The huge stage of the palace turned into an “Aeroflot airplane” for one evening - decorators decorated the “board” of an impromptu aircraft with illuminated portholes, and a constantly changing sky-like landscape in the background created a feeling of flying. The first Aeroflot members were congratulated by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of OJSC Aeroflot - Russian Lines, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Viktor Ivanov and General Director Valery Okulov. After this, the wishes of our company were expressed by the concert hosts Andrei Malakhov and Yana Churikova.
The show was opened by the popular favorite Lev Leshchenko. The song, written specifically for Aeroflot, was performed by Oleg Gazmanov. A flurry of applause was thwarted by Alexander Malinin. The stars of show business succeeded each other, and each of them had warm words about the airline, whose planes they flew dozens of times to rest and tour. Separately, it is worth mentioning the song "Fogs of Russia", which was performed by the owner of the Grand Prix of the author’s song contest "In the octave of the sky, eight notes - Aeroflot" in 2008, and Sergey Prishchepo, leading engineer for maintenance of the aircraft complex of the Flight Complex. Our bard is living proof that Aeroflot employees are not just professionals in love with their work, but also unusually talented people.
The program of the festive concert included nostalgic songs that are so dear to the older generation (the bard group "Songs of Our Century"), as well as fashionable musical directions loved by young people ("City 312", "Band'Eros"). The culprits were celebrated by aerial gymnasts and magicians, dance groups and the famous star "factory owners". And the rain of white, blue and orange balloons with the Aeroflot logo became the final chord of the action.
