Abu Dhabi begins construction of a new super mall

The retail giant announces the start of construction of the largest mall in the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

In Abu Dhabi, construction work has begun on a new City Center Al Jazira shopping center worth 1.4 billion dirhams ($ 380 million). Its discovery is scheduled for 2021.

The project is being implemented as a result of a joint venture between Majid Al Futtaim and Al Jazira Club.

The future super-mall will contain 153 stores, Carrefour hypermarket, Magic Planet family entertainment center, fitness center, as well as restaurants and open-air establishments.

It is expected that the total leased area will be 80.5 thousand square meters. m

"We are very pleased to work with Majid Al Futtaim, this will allow us to play an important role in the construction of a new facility in the heart of Abu Dhabi," said Saeed Mohammed bin Butti Al Kebaisi, chairman of Al Jazira Investment.

He said the new super-mall will be part of Majid Al Futtaim’s plan to increase investment in the UAE by 30 billion dirhams ($ 8.1 billion) by 2026.

The company also recently announced the upcoming My City Center Masdar, which will open in the capital by 2019.
