UAE authorities will pay for errors found on signs

Anyone can earn money if he finds errors in advertising signs in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

Ahmed Ali Al Balushi, Director of the Department of Economic Development of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, urged residents to fix errors in words on any advertising signs using a camera or smartphone and send them to WhatsApp department at 0504321966. Participants will receive money for information.

The initiative aims to protect the Arabic language and get rid of all spelling mistakes in advertising signs.

Al Balushi added that the initiative coincides with World Arab Language Day.

"If this error is confirmed, the department will contact the person who discovered the error and award it with a cash prize in recognition of his efforts and cooperation," he continued.

"We are all proud of the Arabic language, our mother tongue, which is associated with our nationality and Arab civilization," Al Balushi said.

He emphasized that everyone should participate in this important mission, which cannot only be the work of government officials.
