Etisalat will include VAT in communications bills

From the beginning of 2018, the telecom operator Etisalat will include VAT in the accounts of its subscribers.

As you know, from January 1, 2018, the value added tax will come into force in the UAE. On Thursday, Etisalat, a telecommunications company from the Emirates, announced that 5% VAT will be included in all customer accounts served by postpaid tariffs. Clients receiving prepaid communication services will pay VAT on the factual amount spent, the cost of a scratch card will not be recalculated.

Earlier, Etisalat reported that they would add the cost of paying 5% value added tax to the accounts of subscribers from January 1, 2018.

“Etisalat is making every effort to prepare for the entry into force of the new law and provide all customers with the most complete information on any changes. Etisalat has already begun to contact all customers, notifying them of innovations in connection with the introduction of VAT,” company representatives said.
