In Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Russians came to the polls

In Abu Dhabi and Dubai, polling stations opened for voting in the presidential elections in the Russian Federation.

The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Dubai invite all citizens of the Russian Federation who are permanently residing or temporarily staying in the UAE and have reached 18 years of voting day to take part in the elections.

According to Gocha Buachidze, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai, over the first hour of the polling station’s work, more than 150 citizens of the Russian Federation took part in the vote. At the same time, every minute there are more and more people wishing to cast their votes, even small queues are observed, but they are moving fast enough - two voting booths are working, four consulate general officers are simultaneously receiving and registering voters.

Many of those who voted joined the flash mob launched by Russian compatriots at foreign polling stations. They take their photos on the background of the Consulate General building and post them on their pages on social networks with hashtags # ImportantEvery Voice and # Elections2018. Some supplement the posts with hashtags #Election UAE and #Russian Emirates.

We remind you that voting will take place from 8 to 20 hours in the building of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of Russia in Dubai.

To participate in the vote, voters must have a valid passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, a diplomatic passport, official passport or a certificate of entry (return) to Russia.

On election day, the voter is entered into the voters list on the basis of an oral statement upon presentation of one of the above documents proving his identity outside the Russian Federation.
