Dubai approved a four-year city design plan

On the eve of Dubai, the design program for 2018-2021 was approved.

The Design Program for 2018-2021 was approved in Dubai, which includes key projects aimed at developing the creative component in urban plans and stimulating cooperation at the international level.

Mr. Hajjar Al Saffar, Head of the Partnership Development Department of the Dubai Municipality, said the government intends to review the services currently being provided and offer new innovative services that will benefit society and will be aimed at people with disabilities, children and the elderly in as part of the Public Services Reform Strategy.

One of the key initiatives is the construction of the Dubai National Design Center to accumulate experts and designers from around the world, share knowledge and launch new projects.

Also in September, the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI) will open its doors. The university is designed for 35 thousand students from around the globe, it will provide training on programs for the development and implementation of innovations in all areas of society, with the exception of the design of infrastructure and construction projects.

Also in Dubai, a Design Council will be formed, the purpose of which is to exchange and implement various innovative ideas. In addition, the city will host the four-year Dubai Festival of Design and Innovation, in which various projects will be implemented, which will attract the best personnel in the field of design.

The creative component will be taken into account in all aspects of the city’s life, including such areas as transport, healthcare, culture and infrastructure. As part of the program, many exhibitions, conferences, seminars and competitions will be organized.

Daud Abdulrahman Al Hajiri, the head of the Dubai Municipality, said that in its work to develop a comprehensive design plan, the Council will work closely with various government bodies, including the Dubai Road Traffic and Transport Authority (RTA), the Dubai Executive Council, and the Office of Culture and Dubai’s art, as well as the Infrastructure Development Authority.
