Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi visits Astana

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in Astana was received by the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. The leaders discussed investment cooperation.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the UAE, arrived on Wednesday, July 4, in Astana, Kazakhstan, on an official visit.

Sheikh Mohammed was received by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, as well as a number of ministers and senior officials of Kazakhstan.

Sheikh Mohammed and Nazarbayev discussed the possibilities of bilateral cooperation between organizations and institutions of both countries and relations that go beyond the political and economic aspects.

Sheikh Mohammed said to Nazarbayev: “Thirty years ago, no one expected Kazakhstan to achieve such a level of progress, but this happened thanks to your leadership of this beautiful country, your vision and wisdom. Our relations require more growth and development.”

Sheikh Mohammed expressed sincere wishes for more progress, prosperity and security for Kazakhstan and its people.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi pointed out that the areas of cooperation and coordination between the UAE and Kazakhstan are numerous, diverse and permanent. He noted that these relationships are based on mutual interests, especially with regard to renewable energy sources and the creation of a knowledge-based economy.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that there is a strong interest on the part of the residents of the Emirates in investing in Kazakhstan. He said that this is due to a number of agreements that relate to the promotion and expansion of bilateral economic and trade relations.

He confirmed that the UAE seeks to strengthen relations with friendly states around the world.

For his part, Nazarbayev recalled the special relationship with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the role of the founding father in the unification of the United Arab Emirates. President Nazarbayev said the UAE is one of the first countries to support Kazakhstan in the early days of independence.

Sheikh Mohammed was also awarded a medal dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Astana.

During the visit, an agreement was signed on the transfer of convicted persons, a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Information and Communications of Kazakhstan and the Sawab Center in the UAE, and an agreement on cooperation in the cultural sphere.

Sheikh Mohammed leads the delegation, which includes Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, State Minister of Foreign Affairs Anwar Muhammad Gargash, Minister of Energy and Industry Suhal Muhammad Faraj Al Mazrui, Minister of Justice Nura Muhammed Al Kaabi, Minister culture and knowledge development, Sultan Ahmad al-Jaber, Minister of State, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Sultan Isa Al-Jaber, UAE Ambassador to Kazakhstan and other high-ranking officials.
