The cult musical "Phantom of the Opera", which has received international recognition, will be shown on the stage of the Dubai Opera from October 16 to 30. The plot is based on the novel of the same name by the French writer Gaston Leroux and tells the story of the talented singer Cristina Dae, who becomes the object of obsession with a mysterious, disfigured musical genius.
The premiere of the musical The Phantom of the Opera took place in the West End in 1986 and on Broadway in 1988. The performance became the longest running musical in Broadway history. The show was staged in 151 cities in 30 countries; more than 150 million people watched it.
This deeply emotional performance in which passion, jealousy and madness were mixed. 130 actors, musicians and technical experts participate in the show and amazing scenery is used, against which the famous drama unfolds.
