The word "strobe" came to the sphere of beauty thanks to a stroboscope - a device that generates bright light flashes, for example, at a disco. This explains the main essence of the new makeup - play with the light, give the face a natural glow, with which you can simulate it a bit. However, it is difficult to call it new - the make-up technique was used by make-up artists during the time of black-and-white cinema so that the faces of the actors did not appear too dark in the frame. Since then, of course, much has changed in it, but the principle of "everything is new - well-forgotten old" in this case has worked.
The modern strobe-concept has supplanted the position of sculpting that prevailed on the beauty-Olympus recently. Unsurprisingly: strobing is much easier to execute and looks more natural at the finish. In the case of a competent approach and a sense of proportion, a woman looks sleek and well-groomed. As an example, the faces of models at the shows of Stella McCartney, Balmain, Opening Ceremony, Zac Posen, Emilio Pucci, Simone Rocha, J.W. Anderson of the Spring-Summer 2016 season in all four fashion capitals.
Everything in which light-reflecting particles appear is certainly included in the arsenal of this technique. And it can be both dry and creamy textures. In strobing, the ball is ruled, of course, by all kinds of highlighters (luminaires). But caring face creams that give shine, fluids, foundation and light makeup powder with the same effect has not been canceled. The main commandment: do not overdo it, the radiance should be as natural as possible. That is why shimmers and bronzers are not used in strobe. The first often consists of spangles, often quite large "grinding". The second ones contain rich color pigments and are used just in sculpting. However, for fashion and beauty shoots, make-up artists sometimes neglect this rule, sacredly leaving the principle “less is better” for daily make up.
STROBING RULES
Moisturizer or primer - mandatory before strobing. Today there are options with the effect of flickering and lightening the skin. After them - tonal fluid.
Strobing only works with smooth skin. Therefore, if there are flaws, redness on it, they must be masked using a corrector or concealer.
Highlighter is applied to the most convex parts of the face: the middle of the forehead, the space under the eyebrows, above the cheekbones, on the back of the nose, the middle of the chin. And as a separate stroke - in the dimple above the upper lip. That is, highlights are placed.
Beige tones of highlighters are suitable for girls with fair skin, with beige, golden, bronze with a little dark. For dark and very tanned skin, peach and orange remedies are optimal.
For owners of dry skin, it is better to use cream highlighters, combined - dry, normal - to taste.
You should be especially careful with the T-zone: if you go too far with the highlighter, the effect of oily skin will appear.
Strobing does not imply color accents. The focus of attention is like skin illuminated from the inside. Therefore, a little mascara and pale pink lipstick or shine will be enough. An exception is an evening out. In this case, you can make the eyes or lips a little brighter.
