Miller Harris: Lyn Harris fragrance library

Miller Harris luxury perfumes are a library of fragrances, each one matched to a specific season, mood or time of day. Its author is the outstanding British perfumer Lin Harris, who was educated in France and created a series of pure and sensual natural perfumes. The composition of the collection includes perfumes, toilet water, body oil, shower gel and soap, scented candles. Wherever you are, Lin Harris’s fragrant creations “can be used day and night, for any mood.” Of this, Lin herself is confident. We met her at the presentation of the Miller Harris "library" in Bloomingdale's gallery and asked the author to tell about all the news. So…

Coeur de fleur - daytime fragrance from the floral family. The base note combines Florentine iris, ambergris and Madagascar vanilla, sweet peas, mimosa, Egyptian jasmine, raspberry and peach sound in the heart of the fragrance, forming a warm feminine aura.

Fleur oriental - evening perfume from the family of oriental aromas. A bouquet of spicy cloves, Turkish rose and Indian jasmine, with a base note of ambergris, vanilla and soft musk and the ease of a heliotrope and orange blossoms.

Citron Citron - This is a summer citrus essence, giving all the brightness, purity and freshness. The tartness of Sicilian lemon, Spanish orange and Jamaican lime is emphasized by cool mint and basil, while the complex base note of moss, Moroccan cedar and cardamom provides aroma durability.

Terre de bois - chypre aroma that suits both men and women who like smells reminiscent of the lifestyle in small towns in France. Galbanum, Persian fennel resin, juniper and sage make up the heart of this relaxing aroma. Vetiver, Malay patchouli and verbena add a unique touch and mystery to the top note.

Fleur du matin Lin was created, inspired by a trip to the island of Porta Cros, in the south of France. This perfume is an early morning bouquet combining honeysuckle, jasmine and neroli, shimmering with dew, surrounded by sparkling notes of galbanum and fresh basil, emphasized by the brightness of grapefruit and the energy of lemon leaves.

Noix de tubereuse began to be created on the protected tuberose fields in Grasse. The fragrant leaves of the plant make up the heart of the perfume, in the base note of which tonka beans, iris root and ambergris are distinguishable; the upper chords of green clover, mimosa and violets enliven these mysterious and exotic perfumes.

Tangerine vert evokes childhood memories in which the cozy smell of sweet citrus fruits is combined with the bliss of fresh herbs. Sicilian green tangerines share the scene with grapefruit and lemon, seductively mingling with the grassy scent of marjoram, geranium and orange. Base notes include cedar, moss and sweet musk. This persistent odor is equally suitable for both men and women.

Feuilles de tabac will take you to the romantic taverns of San Herman, smelling of wood and smoke. Cuban cascarilla oil and pepper seeds contrast with the cooling “heart” of pine needles and velvety sage. The base note consists of tonka bean, tobacco and Malay patchouli. It may seem like a very masculine smell, but its haunting, attractive train makes it a good choice for both sexes.

Figue amere. The inspiration for its creation was a trip to the hot and deserted coast of the island of Ibiza, where a unique bitter green fig grows, representing an interesting contrast of juicy fruit and tart salt. The fragrance contains delicate top notes of bergamot and mandarin, which contrast with the warmth of a floral heart, including daffodil, rose, fresh violet leaves and angelica seeds. This delicate bouquet ends with a dizzying note of cedar, ambergris and sea moss.

Coeur d'Ete - a pure aroma consisting of complex floral chords. It is very pleasant to feel it on the body, moreover, it is getting better and better over time. This is due to an interesting composition: chocolate beans, banana, jasmine, mimosa, licorice, lemon, grapefruit, mandarin, white pear, white lilac, cassia, heliotrope, santalum, benzoin, vanilla and fruit musk. The aroma is revealed on the body, giving those who wear it a charming and pleasant train.

Geranium bourbon combines notes of blackcurrant berries, lemon geranium and Turkish rose, which are immersed in the smells of an English garden after rain. He is unique. Lightweight, young and sophisticated - and one of a kind. If you started wearing it, it will be very difficult for you to part with it.

And finally Fleurs de Bois. The inspiration for this fragrance was "the English garden with fresh rain, dew-covered grass and floral scents." The perfume composition is based on notes of grass, galbanum, lemon, green mandarin, rosemary, rose, jasmine, iris, oak moss, patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver and birch. This is a chic fragrance for women with taste.

When asked about her favorite fragrance, Lin Harris replied: “Citron Citron gives me freshness at all times. Even those who are allergic to citruses in life fall in love with these perfumes (laughs). They are harmonious, playful, fresh. From the latest creations I am impressed Fleur du Matin, recalling trips around France. "

Saying goodbye, I ask: "Lin, how would you generally describe the Miller Harris corporate identity?" In response: "Vintage and the search for new unique natural aromatic compositions. Everything that surrounds us is worthy to become perfumes. So I’ve been exploring all these possibilities since 2000."

It remains to be recalled that the "niche" brand Miller Harris, which first worked only with private customers in its own store in London, is now represented in more than 350 points around the world. And this is not the limit.
