Dubai Metro will open new stations and update train schedules in 2014

In 2014, the Dubai Metro is planning new improvements in its work, the Dubai Committee on Roads and Transport said. So, it is planned to begin the construction of new stations that will ensure transport accessibility to the venue of the world exhibition "EXPO 2020". Two stations on the Green Line, Jaddaf and Creek, will also be commissioned: their construction has now been completed.

To the delight of many residents and guests of Dubai, it is planned that in 2014 the Dubai Metro will begin to operate on Fridays in the early morning (it currently opens on Fridays at 13.00). At the same time, background music will cease to sound in the subway (this experiment has already been carried out earlier, especially on national holidays).

In September 2013, the Dubai Metro celebrated its fifth anniversary from the date of commissioning. Over the past period, two branches and 46 stations served more than 300 million passengers, of which more than half a million on New Year's Eve 2013.
