The Moscow company Olympic City has announced plans to build a Russian cultural complex in the United Arab Emirates.
It is expected that it will include an opera and ballet theater, a hotel, as well as hotel apartments. The project prospects were discussed at a meeting with the Emirate company Ibiza, which was held in Dubai at the end of May of this year.
It is worth noting that the first meeting took place in September last year after organizing a successful tour of the Russian Seasons of the 21st Century project at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the UAE.
Opening the details of the project, Alexei Semenyachenko, chairman of the Olympic City group of companies, noted: “The idea of creating a Russian cultural complex in the UAE meets our interests in strengthening relations between Russia and the United Arab Emirates, especially after we saw their dynamic development over the past few years in the economic and cultural fields.
We strive to develop ties between our countries and peoples and present the culture of our country to the inhabitants and guests of the country through the great ballet art. Today, this country has become a home for people of different nationalities, which provides fertile ground for the implementation of our project. "
In his opinion, the new cultural center will be important not only for the UAE, but also for the entire Middle East as a whole. A theater equipped with the latest technology will be built on its territory for conducting ballet performances and concerts. The inspiration for his architectural solution was the opera house in Monte Carlo. “I am confident that Arabian hospitality, support from local authorities and the Russian embassy in the UAE will contribute to the successful implementation of our plans,” Alexei Semenyachenko also emphasized.
Muhammad Al Blushi, CEO of Ibiza, said: “We are currently working on the details of the project. It’s not yet decided where the center will appear, in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. We are exploring several suitable places and will announce our decision shortly " It should be noted that the Olympic City group includes 100 companies that are engaged in the construction and development of territories both in Russia and abroad. Among its partners are the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, the company Russian Railways, Vnesheconombank and others.
